Lauren E. Chaump is Of Counsel with Russell Law, LLC, where she focuses her practice on all aspects of Divorce & Family Law Matters. Lauren brings a seasoned litigation perspective to the representation of individuals and families navigating significant and often challenging life transitions.
With nearly 20 years of extensive experience in commercial, civil and defense litigation. Lauren has also served as a Municipal Court Prosecutor across several towns in Monmouth County. Lauren has developed the Trial skills, strategic case management, sophisticated writing and negotiation skills that are essential to the practice of Family Law. Throughout her career, Lauren has tried cases to verdict, argued appellate matters, and represented clients in complex and highly contested litigation. Her broad litigation background allows her to approach family matters with a thoughtful understanding of both the legal and practical considerations that can shape the outcome of a case.
Lauren’s commitment to family law and advocacy for children began early in her legal career. Through internships and clerkships, she gained meaningful exposure to family matters and developed a particular appreciation for the unique needs and interests of children involved in legal proceedings. That early experience continues to inform her approach to divorce and family law matters, where she strives to provide thoughtful, practical, and effective representation while remaining mindful of the impact legal proceedings can have on families and children.
Before joining Russell Law, Lauren practiced with several prominent New Jersey law firms, including Campbell, Foley, Delano & Adams in Asbury Park; Ronan Tuzzio & Giannone in Tinton Falls; and Leyden, Capotorto, Ritacco, Corrigan & Sheehy in Toms River. Her civil litigation practice provided her with extensive experience evaluating complex disputes, developing litigation strategies, conducting discovery, negotiating resolutions, and advocating for clients at depositions, mediations, motion practice, arbitrations and at Trial.
Lauren has also served as Municipal Prosecutor for multiple New Jersey townships, further expanding her courtroom experience and providing her with valuable insight into municipal practice, trial advocacy, and the responsibilities of representing clients and public entities in legal proceedings.
Earlier in her career, Lauren served as a law clerk to the Honorable Bette Uhrmacher, J.S.C., at the Monmouth County Vicinage. During law school, she clerked with the Legal Department of NBC News and interned with the Honorable Paul F. Challet, J.S.C., and the Honorable Thomas F. Scully, J.S.C., at the Monmouth County Vicinage. These experiences gave her an early and well-rounded foundation in litigation, judicial decision-making, and the practical realities of legal advocacy.
Lauren earned her Juris Doctor from Widener University School of Law in 2008. She graduated summa cum laude from Monmouth University in 2005. She was admitted to practice law in the State of New Jersey and before the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey in 2009.
As both an experienced litigator and a single parent, Lauren understands that family-law disputes are about more than legal issues alone. She brings integrity, empathy, preparation, and a strong commitment to her client on every legal matter she handles, working to help her clients understand their options and make informed decisions while protecting their interests and, when children are involved, keeping their well-being at the forefront.
