Amy M. Francis is a founding partner with Russell Law, LLC. Amy specializes in all aspects of divorce and family law matters.  Amy helps clients navigate the emotional and financial challenges often associated with family disputes, including those involving divorce, domestic violence, alimony, equitable distribution of assets, child custody/relocation, child support, and post judgment matters.  Amy offers not only more than a decade of professional experience inside the Courtroom, but her own personal experience as a divorced mother of two young daughters. Amy’s own journey provides her with a unique understanding of the emotions and pain of a divorce while trying to balance the responsibilities of being a parent while navigating such a grueling life event.  Amy’s personal experience allows her to provide clients with a sincere compassion and empathy learned from her own divorce. While Amy handles all aspects of Divorce and Family Law, she has substantial experience litigating Domestic Violence matters and regularly handling Division of Child Protection and Permanency (DCP&P) investigations and all actions instituted by the Division of Child Protection.

Prior to joining Russell Law, Amy first obtained invaluable experience as an attorney in the State of Florida, where she negotiated settlements and when necessary litigated all aspects of Divorce and Family Law matters, domestic violence matters, juvenile court and shelter hearings instituted by the Division of Child Protection.

Amy left Florida and returned home to New Jersey in 2018 to complete a one year clerkship with the Honorable Angela White Dalton, J.S.C. in Monmouth County.  Amy assisted Judge Dalton in the Family Part to supplement her litigation experience obtained in Florida with a complete understanding of New Jersey case law, Rules of Court and Statutes governing all aspects of divorce and family law matters.

Upon the completion of her clerkship in the Monmouth County Family Part, Amy joined one of New Jersey’s preeminent law firms, Wilentz, Goldman & Spitzer, P.A. in September of 2019.   Amy enjoyed a very successful career at Wilentz from 2019 – 2026 and is respected as a zealous advocate for her clients and a skilled Trial Attorney.  On February 6, 2026, Amy left Wilentz with former Chair of the Family Law Department at Wilentz, Joseph J. Russell, Jr., Esq., and paralegals Heather Chiang and Rachel Castelhano, to join Russell Law, LLC, as a Founding Partner.

Amy earned her law degree at St. Thomas University School of Law in 2016, where she served as Managing Editor of the Intercultural Human Rights Law Review.  She graduated from Monmouth University with a B.A. in 2013. She is admitted to practice in New Jersey and Florida.
